The small diameter graphite electrode and rod bar is a non-metal product and is a necessary cutting consumable before welding in a carbon arc gouging cutting process. It is made of carbon, graphite, and an appropriate binder. It is extruded through 2200° C and coated with a layer of copper, it has high temperature resistance, good electrical conductivity, and is not easily broken. It is suitable for cutting metal into a shape that meets requirements.
The small diameter graphite electrode and rod bar is often used in electric heating bodies for high-temperature vacuum furnaces. The maximum operating temperature is up to 3000°C, and they are easily oxidized at high temperatures. In addition to vacuum, they can only be used in neutral atmospheres or reducing atmospheres. Its thermal expansion coefficient is small and thermal conductivity is large, its resistivity is (8~13)×10-6 Ω•m, and its processability is better than that of SiC and MoSi2 rods.
